The rapidly expanding city of Kapolei welcomed newly constructed Kapolei Hale, intended to serve surrounding Ewa
plains communities including Waipahu, Wahiawa, Makakilo, and Ewa Beach. Thanks to a generous donation of 7.5
acres of land by the Estate of James Campbell, the City and County of Honolulu constructed a three-story civic center
with a satellite city hall, drivers license office, and a one-stop permit office among many other city agencies.
Notkin Hawaii Inc. provided mechanical engineering services including air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing, and fire
sprinkler systems for this 100,000 square-foot City Administration building. This $23 million project was completed in
2001.
